One fine day...

One fine day,
clear and gay,
we set out on a jaunt,
eloping from our urban haunt,
on a tryst with mother nature,
to satiate that primate wilderness that we still nurture.

So there we were,
after crossing the city - squirming in the first rays,
quaint towns bustling to keep up with the city's pace,
remote villages with emerald fields and an ever-smiling face,
rolling hills with shola grass, all a golden grace.

There we were,
on the banks of a shimmering river Cauvery
calmly letting in and becoming one with her cousin - Arkavathy.
The cool waters trying to woo,
and the rocks playing peek-a-boo.
Without much ado,
the child in each one of us comes out too.

We bask in the sun's glory,
soakin up (sights, sounds, touch) all things sensory,
we walk with our feet bare,
dance to the tunes in the air,
we giggle our hearts out,
and frolick in the waters, having fun out n' out !

But then, she probably thought we were going awry,
and decided to bring up and show us her fury,
nestled deep inside her calm and caring veil.
we tried so hard but to no avail,
we were but mere specks in front of her gigantic self.
And she took him in, deep within herself.
One step wrong, away and alone,
and he was gone, gone and gone.
That's when we realize - if she can make,
she can also break !

And oh, that day,
was no more so fine, clear and gay ...

The Dusky Rendezvous

Shivers run down my spine,
for I stand a spectator to an episode divine,
the dais Terra firma and puppets - moisture, haze and shine,
the haze chasing shine and the shine going benign,
to conceive an aura so brilliant and pristine.

Shivers run down my spine,
Oh! Being absolute and divine,
for I stand humbled in the reflection of Thine.

A Shower In The Dark

I come out of my coveted abode ,
to find a surprisingly refreshing gust of cool air wash over me,
I soak in the feel n gather myself up,
only to be mobbed by a flurry of dust and leaves flying here n there.
A faint but enchanting smell of fresh earth permeates the atmosphere,
opening up all my senses to the bounties of nature.
An uncontrollable joy wells up inside me,
brimming out as i feel a cold prickle crawl down my skin,
and gushing out madly making me dance and run,
as the sky shattered and fell over me in tatters.
In a few minutes, the joy is washed off, and I feel the need to seek a refuge.
I take shelter in a dark shaded spot, and begin to drift into a land of dreams.
My vision betrays me and my sense of hearing becomes sharper,
I hear a deafening blast that leaves me weak on my own knees,
then suddenly out of nowhere appears a fleeting flash of light,
within which the visuals my eyes capture, leave me dumb-struck.
I saw thousands and thousands of brilliantly sparkling diamonds,
gliding on an infinitely long, murky, black velvet curtain,
coming down hard on a mysterious flat mirror,
splitting into a thousand more tiny shards,
sinking into a world I know not of.
I wanted to go out there and grab a handful for myself,
but alas, by the time I moved, the flash was gone,
and I was left alone in stark darkness wondering in awe at the play of nature.

A Perspective on - "LIFE"

'Life' - it is an interesting word,
drives one through his memories, as soon as it's heard.
It carries the burden of one's plight,
n caresses the glimpses of his joyous flight.

It bears in its letters, the essence of one's being,
his encounters with both dead and living.
It takes one into the world of dreams,
flashes of future, so real it seems.

It's an expression of one's emotions - so diverse and so deep,
and loads of experiences bundled up in a heap.
Life has three parts - past, present and the future.
but you've got to LIVE in the present - that's the law of nature.

So, enrich THIS moment with the life of yore,
and nurture the near with visions from your core.
'Life' - it is an intersting word,
and its up to U to make it treasured.

A Gem Lost n Forgotten

A jewel in the crown,
That was long blown,
Into the ravages of time,
By the savages of grime,
Now stands alone,
Waiting to be thrown,
Out of the lurid night,
Into vivid light,
Where once again,
It shall gain,
The status of a gem,
At the crown’s helm.
